Curious why over 500 school children have a rare and serious respiratory illness in Kansas City, MO alone

Curious why hundreds of children across the Midwest have come down with a rare and serious respiratory illness that the Center for Disease Control (CDC) calls enterovirius D68.  There are over 500 children in Kansas City, Missouri alone.

Hmmm…. wonder how many of these children attend schools or live near "farms" that are "manufacturing" GMO crops?  That is, crops like soyalfalfa and corn that are "genetically engineered" with the weed killer/pesticide called Round Up Ready.  That's what's supposed to happen, right?  The pollen travels across the wind to . . .

Since cancer at 38, I read all labels, and because some manufactures won't label that they contain GMO ingredients - they don't go in my shopping cart.  I look for those labeled: Non GMO Project Verified

General Mills moves to GMO labeling?

Terrific post by Robyn O'Brien, author of  The Unhealthy Truth on The Great Granddaughter of General Mills' Co-Founder speaks out.  Excerpt follows:

Today, at General Mills shareholder meeting, something remarkable happened.  And if it doesn't speak to the changing food landscape in the U.S., I don't know what does.

Shareholders were set to vote on an initiative calling for the removal of genetically engineered ingredients from all General Mills' products.  Even though General Mills announced that they would be removing genetically engineered ingredients from Cheerios earlier this year, the measure did not look likely to pass.

All eyes were on the vote, though, especially in the aftermath of the announcement that General Mills was acquiring Annie's Homegrown. So what happened?  The great granddaughter of the co-founder of General Mills spoke up.

Side Note from SuperMom101:  Post Cereals was founded by a Medical Doctor who ran a sanitarium at the turn of the century where he believed that "healthy eating principles were crucial to one's health."  Before then, he and his brother started a "whole grain" cereal company but when his brother wanted to add sugar they parted ways. Their last name. . . Kellogg.

Dr. Oz speaks the truth! The Fight Against "Enlist Duo"

Thank you Dr. Oz for speaking the truth!

Doe any one else find it strange that America (and her children) have never been fatter or sicker?  Meanwhile, we're told everything is fine with our highly processed, genetically modified (GMO), chemically manufactured, pesticide sprayed, antibiotic feed, artificially flavored, steroid injected, high fructose corn syrup (HFSC),"all natural", fat free, nutritionally void, sugar dumped, food supply.

After cancer at 38, I steer clear as best we can of all this "fake" food supply 'cuz I don't want to be the one in twenty years that says, "see what this did to America's health and welfare." (And, 13 years ago, thought I was eating healthy.)

Organic Joos (Juice) wins support from Sam Adams Brewery plus Check out the Movie Fat Sick and Nearly Dead

Congratulations to the Juice company Joos! (Joos wins Support from Sam Adams Brewery). Changed my diet after cancer at 38 and discovered juicing. (I had no idea about America's highly processed, genetically modified, chemically engineered, artificially flavored, steroid injected, sugar-laden, artificially sweetened, fat free, factory-farmed food supply - and I thought I was eating healthy.)

Great move: www.fatsickandnearlydead.com (free to watch on the internet) that shows two amazing transformations to healthier living.

Good luck and best health always,

Map is a great visual!  Would love to see obesity maps compared to each other for the past 20, 40, 50, and even 100 years.

Huffington Post Comment: 10 Sneaky Sugar Sources that Hold Your Weight Hostage by JJ Virgin

Comment to Huffington Post post by Celebrity Nutrition & Fitness Expert - JJ Virgin10 Sneaky Sugar Sources That Hold Your Weight Hostage

Great movie: Fed Up explains the whole "America exercising like never before and strangely still can't seem to loss weight mystery."

Thanks JJ for your post that highlights one of the roots of it - S.U.G.A.R. (and artificial sweeteners are no better.)

By the way. . . anyone else find it strange that we're told everything is fine with America's highly processed, chemically engineered, genetically modified, artificially flavored, chemical laden, factory farmed, food supply and we can't seem to figure out why America (and her children) have never been fatter or sicker?

14 Non-Dairy Foods that are High in Calcium

Thu 10:54 AM

Yipee!  After breast cancer at age 38 I steer clear of all things dairy.  Notice all the non-dairy foods are "real foods" that are not processed, advertised, packaged, or have added ingredients.

*Interesting post from Colonial Williamsburg on the history of drinking ale, beer and spirits during the colonial times (instead of the polluted waters.) : History of Drinking.  Here's an excerpt:

Colonial Americans, at least many of them, believed alcohol could cure the sick, strengthen the weak, enliven the aged, and generally make the world a better place. They tippled, toasted, sipped, slurped, quaffed, and guzzled from dawn to dark.
